i have always been creative and crafty. i grew up drawing and painting, but had never really found my niche, after retiring from the military, I revisited my creativity and started drawing, painting, and dabbling in photography. i believe God is the original artist and you can see his art and beauty everywhere if you are paying attention. i absolutely love to hike and gain inspiration from nature.

I am a three dimensional mixed media artist using multiple mediums with several different techniques to create interesting pieces. I mix new with old and sometimes throw in something that could have sentimental value or representation of a person, place, or time. Somewhere along the road, i became obsessed with glass and the different ways light can visually effect it. I currently specialize in glass sculpture out of shattered glass. we collect glass from all over with different textures, thickness, colors, and age. it’s exciting to see it all come together into a piece of repurposed or upcycled art.

i soon realized that some of the old textured glass and objects were creating nostalgia in the eye of the beholder. I had a lady spend a long time looking at one of my sunflower pieces. This particular piece had two antique marbles. she was reminiscing back to when she was little and her father had a marble collection that she played with. She saw the antique marble with a cat eye and was immediately brought back to a fond memory. on another occasion, i had a piece that i included antique hobnail milk glass . A gentlemen told me that the piece was beautiful, he then paused when he recognized the milk glass. he shared memories of his grandma’s house when he was growing up, she always had milk glass on display. I love how art can have more than one complex layer and provide a unique way to connect with people.
